Chess is everything: art, science and sport.

IMG_2253 After fourteen hours of head to head competition in Rocky River, Chess team finished strong to move up and win 2nd in the state in their division, just one point out of first place. Individually Frank Fissel and John Dosen tied for 3rd in the state and finished 5th and 6th on tie breakers.  John Fissel, Jimmy Carcioppolo and Blaise Rudmann each won matches, making this a very solid team performance.   Mekel Chapman was the lone participant in the Open division and he split 3 and 3, one win from a trophy, the best finish by any Benedictine student in that division in over 10 years! The team and individual trophies are on display in the main office.

Coach Reeves wishes to thank the entire squad for their work all year and especially for all the long hours of competition this weekend. We all had fun!
